Socio-Economic & Baseline Survey Agency
DSTechnoverse is a full-service socio-economic survey agency. We design and run household surveys, baseline and endline studies, willingness-to-pay surveys, and impact evaluations for development organisations, corporates, CSR teams, government projects, EIA/ESIA consultants, and researchers.
From defining indicators and drawing a representative sample to fielding trained enumerators, running quality control, and analysing the data, we handle the entire survey lifecycle. You get credible, well-documented evidence that stands up to funders, regulators, and boards.

How DSTechnoverse Conducts Your Survey
We run every survey through a disciplined, documented workflow so the data is representative, the fieldwork is verifiable, and the results are defensible:
- 1Scoping & indicator design — we translate your objectives into a precise set of indicators and decide exactly what to measure.
- 2Sampling design — we build a representative sample using random, stratified, cluster, or multi-stage methods and calculate the sample size for your precision needs.
- 3Questionnaire development — we design, translate into local languages, and pilot-test the instrument before full fieldwork.
- 4Enumerator training — we recruit and train local-language field teams on the questionnaire, interviewing technique, ethics, and the digital tool.
- 5Field data collection — teams collect data on tablets (CAPI) with GPS, timestamps, and skip-logic validation, supervised in the field.
- 6Quality control — back-checks, spot-checks, audio audits, and daily high-frequency checks catch errors and fraud as they happen.
- 7Analysis & reporting — we clean, analyse, and present the data, then deliver a detailed report and, on request, live dashboards.
Tools & Technology We Use
- CAPI data collection — tablet-based apps such as KoBoToolbox, ODK, and SurveyCTO-style platforms with GPS and audio audits.
- CATI — computer-assisted telephone interviewing for follow-ups and wide, fast reach.
- Statistical analysis — SPSS, R, Python, and Stata for descriptive, inferential, and impact analysis.
- Data visualisation & dashboards — Power BI and Tableau for interactive reporting.
- GIS mapping — QGIS / spatial tools to map results across your study area.
- Secure data management — structured, cleaned, and access-controlled datasets you fully own.
The Detailed Report You Receive
Every study ends with a comprehensive, decision-ready deliverable — not just a raw dataset:
- Executive summary with key findings and recommendations.
- Methodology note — sampling design, sample size, fieldwork dates, and response rates.
- Cleaned, labelled datasets (Excel / SPSS / CSV) with a data dictionary.
- Indicator tables and baseline (or baseline vs endline) values.
- Charts, cross-tabulations, and results disaggregated by gender, income, and location.
- GIS maps of the study area and spatial patterns.
- Interpretation tied back to your objectives, plus limitations and data-quality notes.
- Optional interactive Power BI / Tableau dashboard for ongoing exploration.

Frequently Asked Questions
How large should the sample be?
It depends on the indicators you need to measure, the precision required, whether results must be reported separately for sub-groups or villages, and the design effect of cluster sampling. We calculate the sample size from these inputs at the design stage rather than using a fixed number.
In which languages can you run surveys?
Questionnaires are translated into the languages spoken in the study area, back-translated where accuracy matters, and pilot-tested with local respondents before fieldwork. Enumerators are recruited and trained in those languages.
How long does a household survey take?
Design and piloting usually take two to three weeks, fieldwork depends on sample size and geography, and analysis and reporting take two to four weeks after data collection. We give a project-specific schedule with the proposal.
Can your baseline be used in an EIA or ESIA?
Yes. Socio-economic baselines for EIA and ESIA are designed around the project’s area of influence and the requirements of the ToR or lender standards, covering demographics, livelihoods, land use, vulnerable groups and community concerns.
How do you make sure the fieldwork is genuine?
Tablet-based collection records GPS location and timestamps, supervisors back-check a share of interviews, and daily high-frequency checks flag unusual patterns, such as very short interviews, for follow-up.
Who owns the data?
You do. We deliver cleaned, labelled datasets with a data dictionary, and personally identifiable information is handled under the consent obtained from respondents.
